Sanctuary Point, 8 November 2024 — Sanctuary Point Community Pride (SPCP) is pleased to announce that proceeds from this year’s Community Raffle have been donated to the St Georges Basin Uniting Church Food Pantry. The contribution was made on 7 November, just before the pantry’s weekly opening, providing much-needed financial support to the pantry’s free service, which has been a vital resource for local families and individuals experiencing food insecurity.
“It was an absolute privilege to support this essential community resource,” said President of SPCP, Allen Kruse. “The food pantry has been a lifeline for many, and we’re so pleased to be part of its mission, especially as the holiday season approaches.”
As the holiday season nears, the food pantry is also holding its annual Christmas food drive, welcoming donations of festive foods. These donations will be included in holiday hampers, ensuring that families in need can celebrate the season. Those interested in contributing are invited to drop off donations on Thursdays at the pantry at 7 Meriton Street, St Georges Basin, or the Husky Op Shop located at 53 Hawke St, Huskisson
The raffle draw also brought excitement to the community, with fantastic prizes awarded to lucky ticket holders. SPCP extends its heartfelt thanks to the local businesses whose generosity made the raffle possible. Congratulations to the winners:
- Ticket 010351 – $100 voucher from Sanctuary Point Garden Centre
- Ticket 009579 – $100 voucher from Symone’s Avenue of Beauty
- Ticket 010067 – Six-month gym membership from Anytime Fitness Vincentia
- Tickets 008223 and 008237 – Hand-crocheted rugs by SPCP member Joan Hall
Thanks to community support, SPCP looks forward to continuing its tradition of giving and ensuring local organizations like the St Georges Basin Uniting Church Food Pantry can provide valuable resources to those who need them most.
