Sanctuary Point Community Pride Inc is delighted to announce the Spring Into Sanctuary Point fair will be held on Saturday 22 October from 9 am to 1 pm at Francis Ryan Reserve, behind the Sanctuary Point shops.

The first festival was held in 2011 and the event gets bigger and bigger each time it is held. Community groups are invited to have a stall to promote their activities. There will be displays of classic cars, and approximately 40 stalls including a jumble stall, the SES and RFS. Community Champions will have a stall to promote their gardening competition.

Once again Nowra Tilt Tray will provide the stage for the musical entertainment. Sanctuary Point Public School pupils will display their knowledge of aboriginal culture, and KC Dancers will give a presentation. Bay & Basin Radio 92.7 FM will have an outside broadcast.  The popular Lions BBQ, coffee and ice cream vans will cater to any appetite.

The winners of the “Happy Ever After” raffle will be announced. From mid-October look out for ticket sellers near the local IGA supermarkets and on Friday nights at The Country Club St Georges Basin.  First prize is $2000 worth of vouchers for services and goods to make a substantial contribution to a wedding day. We thank All Seasons Celebrancy; The Country Club Vincentia; Jervis Bay Florist; Curly Mermaids Hair & Beauty; Plough & Harrow; Sanctuary Point Printing; and Nora Devai Photography for their generosity.

Other prizes include – a tub full of garden products donated by Sanctuary Point Garden Centre as 2nd prize to beautify your garden. The popular hand crocheted rug donated by Joan Hall is 3rd; and 4th prize is a $100 voucher from Symones Hair & Beauty. Proceeds from the raffle will provide outdoor play equipment for all abilities at Noahs child development services at Sanctuary Point.

There will be fun for all ages. For the littlies there will be a jumping castle, alpacas to pat, and a Lucky Dip stall. Firefly have conducted a Poster Competition for 10-18 year olds to promote the fair.  Over at the Skate Park, Firefly will hold a TOTEM display and competition.

The charity “Dress for Success” will be having a market day at the nearby BBCRI youth centre so go along and grab a bargain.  Proceeds will enable this not for profit to support women to achieve economic independence.

So come along and join the fun.
