The $65,000 project, which was funded by Council ($20,000), Bendigo Bank ($20,000) and NSW Government Office of Sport and Recreation ($25,000), saw Council work closely with local residents, Sanctuary Point Community Pride Inc. and the Sanctuary Point Men’s Shed who constructed a sculpture and seating within the facility.
Sanctuary Point Community Pride facilitated the project to transform Clifton Park from a passive venue into an exciting and appealing attraction for local children.
The Learn to Ride Facility provides both a fun and educational opportunity for children in the Bay and Basin area as they learn to ride, understand road rules and interact with traffic in a safe environment.
Further to this, the track encourages youngsters to get outside and active while also providing an outdoor meeting place for parents.
If you are holding an event or party, you may obtain use of the key to turn on the traffic lights. You can do this by phoning the BCR on 4443 9244 to arrange a time for collection. The key may then be collected from the Sanctuary Point Youth and Community Centre office at 34 Paradise Beach Road, Sanctuary Point, between 11 am – 3 pm. The issue of the key will be subject to a $20 refundable deposit at the time of collection.
